Here we are once again to review the week’s progress, update with news, and talk about the game’s future.
Today we have two main topics (don’t worry, both of them are good) so let’s go to the critical talk!
DEX or not-DEX, that is the question
Lately, if you go through upcoming (or already deployed) Harmony ONE projects, you will see two things:
- Most of them are being “gamified”
- Most of them are launching some DEX
Both things are probably due to the astonishing success of DFK (DeFi Kingdoms). So one would say: “Hey, if they got success by doing it, why not just try and see what happens?”
But there are a few issues every project should think about before going through that “quest”:
- Since almost all these teams are small and are trying to have a game, will they be able to spend enough resources on both things?
- Is the cost/benefit analysis results profitable for the project?
- Will your project be able to do several different audits for the DEX?
- And the most critical question: do you think having a DEX will give you a significant extra value for your project?
These questions are not made just for us but for every project. Some will say yes, others will think twice and change their ways… but let’s be honest. Let’s see this from the point of view of an investor.
What do you prefer as an investor? To invest in a DEX project and a game project, each one using all of their resources on being good on their things? Or to invest in a project trying to do everything right now?
For me, the answer is clear. Specialization is the key.
Pros and cons
We talked about having or not a DEX. But, what about us? Wouldn’t we lose too much without it?
Not really.
DFK made most of their profit not from the swap fees but the LP farms, the hero trades, the item trades…
And lots of users prefer not to use their exchange due to the gamified UI. Instead, they like to go to a “classical DEX” with the standard UI and make their swaps.
Our players want to have a fantastic and fun game. A profitable project. A growing community.
And we can achieve it:
- Without the DEX, we can focus all our team on developing the game itself!
- The Banker and The Investor would be there, allowing you, the player, to earn crazy rewards for providing liquidity to the project.
- Our community can quickly grow if we focus on having a quality game, just as other successful projects like Axie Infinity did
And what about the in-game DEX?
That is not an issue. We have been in talks with FoxSwap, the DEX we are partnering with, and they will help us to integrate our “front-end” with their systems, so we will still have the UI to do token swaps on our website and in our game, but without having to worry about running the DEX.

Yes, that is our new partner. We will be using their DEX as the core for our exchanges, and after the public sale launch, we will have our liquidity locked there.
